This is indisputably the coolest location on earth. I have always loved this place, ever since my first conscious memories of it (& even decades before Neil Gaiman set an epic battle sequence here.) The fusion of cultures and time periods and scale and sheer bizarrity has been an inspiration both to my artwork and also to the design of my own unconventional living spaces.
The following are some shots I took during the winter tour…which, despite the somewhat creepy addition of 10,000 Santa’s dispersed throughout every room, is -the- time to visit, as there was absolutely no crowd whatsoever.
(Also, this last trip reminded me how much I really need to upgrade my camera…stay tuned for next time…)
